DETAILS:
La Cupola, an old 17th century villa in the heart of
trendy Positano, has been recently renovated with care
and tastefully decorated with touches of quality.
Located in a peaceful and yet very central location, it
offers hospitality in two pleasant apartments situated
on the ground floor, while the owner only occasionally
resides on the upper level during the week-ends.
Each apartment is set on two levels, and are independent
of each other allowing privacy; they are, however, close
enough to be easily rented together to house up to 8
persons. A small covered terrace separates the two
units. One of the advantages of these apartments is that
the central location is ideal for those not wishing to
have a car. They are a few steps away from the
celebrated chic boutiques, restaurants and bars, right
next door to the famed Hotel Le Sirenuse. On the other
side of Le Sirenuse is our Villa Le Sirene; thus for a
large group the two villas could be rented together to
sleep up to 16 people.
Parking is available at a nearby car park costing 18/20
Euro per day, although a car is not essential thanks to
frequent buses and ferries serving all the major beauty
spots and neighbouring towns and villages of this
coastline.
Apt. 1 - sleeps 4
Two levels. Entrance level: The entrance leads into the
large sitting/dining room furnished in a charming style
with white washed walls, terracotta tiles on the floor,
wooden table and chairs, comfortable sofa, satellite TV
and two French windows opening on to the balcony which
runs the length of the apartment and faces truly picture
postcard material overlooking the dome of the church (la
cupola) and to the sea and village beyond. The kitchens
are compact and efficient with fridge, cooker with 3 gas
rings and oven, and a separate bathroom with washing
machine.
Mezzanine level: The upper level, reached by 8 steps,
has a double bedroom with en-suite shower bathroom and
one twin bedroom., A shower room is immediately outside
the twin bedroom.
Apt. 2 - sleeps 4
This is almost identical to Apartment 1 but the
queensize bedroom is accessed via seven steps while the
twin bedroom is accessed via twelve steps. Both bedrooms
have en suite bathrooms, one bathroom has a shower and
one has a tub.
The two apartments are easily reached by 54 steps down
from the main road.
Facilities include satellite TV, washing machine, oven,
fridge. |
DISTANCES:
5 minutes walk down to the centre and ten more minutes
to the main beach "Spiaggia Grande". A stop for the
internal yellow shuttle bus is right on the road above.
A good walk takes guests to the top of the village from
where one can get the blue buses marked SITA to Sorrento
(1 h.) or Amalfi (1 h.). To the right of the main beach
numerous ferries and hydrofoils ply daily between
Positano and Capri (50 min), Naples (50 min), Amalfi (30
min) and Salerno (30 min). Within a few minutes walk
there is a variety of shops, bars, internationally known
boutiques and various restaurants.
