DETAILS:
In perfect peace, Le Logge offers a wonderful
atmosphere, watched over by the numerous ‘sentinals’ of
the area: castles, towers, ancient villages and abbeys,
all encircling the lovely valley. The gardens are a
profusion of roses, hedges of lavender and rosemary
against the back-drop of the silvery green olives trees.
The only sounds here are the birds and an occasional
crunch of feet on the gravel paths.
This recently restored property is one of the nicest and
most charming I have seen in a long time! The position
is excellent, about half-way between Arezzo and Siena,
thus a strategic spot for visiting the northern part of
Tuscany. On the top of a hill, surrounded by olive
groves and woods, the owner of Le Logge has brought back
to life two ancient farmhouses, one of which has been
divided into five delightful apartments, and one an
independent house for 6 people, all sharing the large
pool.
Il Fienile – Sleeps 6
Large independent house offering a very spacious living
room with huge old Tuscan fireplace, part of which is a
lovely dining area; three double or twin bedrooms, two
bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and a
private covered terrace with garden furniture outside
the kitchen.
The Apartments
The comfortable apartments have been decorated with much
care and attention to detail, each with a different
color scheme (Red, Yellow, Green, Grey, Blue). There is
a private outdoor area for each apartment and on a
natural terrace above the houses is a large swimming
pool (14mx7m) in a splendid panoramic position. A
washing machine is available for communal use.
Blue – Sleeps 4
1st floor: two queen size bedroom, bathroom with shower,
kitchen with oven, sitting-dining room.
Green – Sleeps 2
1st floor: queen size bedroom (or twin) bathroom with
shower, living-dining with kitchenette
Yellow – Sleeps 2
1st floor: queen size bedroom (or twin), bathroom with
shower, sitting-dining-kitchenette.
Green and Yellow can be connected to Blue to form a
larger apartment if required.
Grey – Sleeps 2
Ground floor: king size bedroom (or twin) bathroom with
shower, kitchen with oven, sitting-dining room (two sofa
beds)
Red – Sleeps 2 + 2
2nd floor: futon bed on mezzanine level, kitchen with
oven, bathroom with shower, sitting room with sofabed
and dining table.
Le Logge is also ideal for a group of friends or a
special interest group who can rent the entire
structure. In this case, the living room of Il Fienile
can become a sort of Club House for special acitivities.
A cook is available and the delightful owner is on hand
nearby to assist with any organization. Musical
evenings, massage, healing classes, yoga, weddings,
birthday celebrations etc can all be arranged. Olive
picking activities take place in late October/early
November and guests are very welcome to lend a hand and
enjoy the fun. Visits to the olive mill and olive oil
tastings can be arranged. There is no telephone and the
nearest is in the village 3 km away where there is also
basic shopping. No children or pets please. |
DISTANCES:
Arezzo is 20 km away with all
services, markets etc. Siena 40 km, Florence 60 km. It
is two hours drive from Rome.
