Riccioli is situated in a panoramic position in the Piedmont region, on the Western shore of Lake Maggiore. It is a detached modern house with extraordinary views over the lake and the castle of Angera. The area, blessed by a mild climate and an amazing landscape, has plenty to offer: summer festivals, fine restaurants, romantic strolls by the lake, quaint little villages and castles waiting to be explored.
Completely independent and built on two levels, the villa is surrounded by its own private terraced garden (about 1000 sq mt). Each terrace is connected by external stone steps and for this reason the property is not suitable for small children or people with walking difficulties.
DESCRIPTION:
Riccioli, which can accommodate four people, reflects refinement and good taste. It is airy, spacious and comfortably furnished with some design items and pieces of art crafts bought during the owner’s various trips, such as the ancient Arab Door from Rabat. Floors are covered with timber parquetry. The interior provides open spaces and thanks to the large windows offers open view over the lake.
Please note that it is necessary to have a car at this property.
The house consists on three floors, two are for rental (about 140 sqm), while in the basement are stored the owner personal belongings.
The entrance to the house is from the upper level, and here, the rail of the hall representing a dance, work of a famous artist, frames the blue of the sky. The hall gives access to the master bedroom (bed 170 x 200cm); on the same floor there is a twin bedroom with two beds (each of 80 x 190cm) which can be made up as a queensize bed, and a bathroom (with tub).
Eighteen steps lead down to the bright living room/ TV corner/ dining area where there are comfortable sofas, armchairs, satellite TV, HiFi, large dining table for eight people, five large windows offering beautiful lake views, access to the panoramic terrace. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, microwave, coffee machine, and oven. There is another bathroom on this floor (without shower or tub).
Riccioli is perfect for a family, but children from 1 to 6 year are not accepted.
Maid service: 3 hours of maid service each Wednesday and Saturday are included in the rental price. The maid can also provide laundry service for 10 Euro x hour (to pay directly). Telephone: only for local calls. Internet access: only dial up line (no adsl) Parking: outside the property there is a private (although not protected) parking space.
Other: BBQ and outside furnishing are provided and bed and bath linen are changed on a Saturday.
Access is through a gated entrance: 10 steps downhill, lead to the house.
DISTANCES:
The property is just one kilometer from Massino Visconti (shops and restaurants), a five minute drive from Lesa where there are more shops, restaurants, a fitness center with pool, tennis court and a pebbly beach. The entrance to the motorway is just 4 km away. Both Arona and Stresa are within a 10 minute drive; Lake Orta is 15 minutes away, Milano 60 minutes by car or by train and Malpensa airport at a 35 minutes drive.
Train station in Lesa (4 km). More frequent trains connecting to Milan and Switzerland stop in Arona (4 km) or Stresa (6 km).
Ferries to the picturesque Borromean islands (Isola Madre, Isola Bella and Isola dei Pescatori), and the surrounding botanic gardens (opens from April 1st to October 31st in Stresa and Arona).
SPORTS:
Water Sports: a wide choice of water sports are offered on the shore of the lake. Golf Courses: Alpino golf club (6 km) and, Des Iles Borromées golf club (4 km). Trekking in the Valgrande and Mottarone parks. Tennis courts (3 km downhill).
