DETAILS:
Villetta Vistalago, one the shores of Lake Maggiore in
the small village of Pallanza, enjoys a delightful
setting with views to the island where the famous
conductor and composer Toscanini used to spend his
holidays. There are also spectacular views of the Alps
on the other side of the lake, snowcapped for many
months of the year. Within a short walking distance from
the villa is the world-famous botanical garden of Villa
Taranto and, to the other side, the pretty little
village of Pallanza where shops, restaurants and cafés
await you. Adjoining the grounds of Villa Vistalago is
the magnificent garden and pre-Liberty style villa of
the owner, standing in its beautiful garden of tropical
and exotic plants. The location, views and grounds are
most impressive.
Villa Vistalago is an early 20th Century construction on
three floors each with independent entrance. Each
apartment has a private garden area adjacent to the
gardens of the villa and the secret harbour and mooring
can be used for those who hire a boat.
DUETTO and TRIO, sleeping two, and QUARTETTO,
sleeping four, are offered for rental. The apartments
have been recently restored by the owner, an architect,
with tasteful furnishings and a charming use of colour
and fabrics.
DUETTO, on the first (upper) floor has a large terrace
with the Toscanini island in full view; TRIO and
QUARTETTO open to a garden with aromatic plants. Each
apartment has a private entrance from outside, but can
be joined by opening an inside door, thus sleeping 6 to
8 people.
Duetto – Sleeps 2
First floor apartment with entrance from a small
verandah into a spacious living room with direct access
to the large terrace with view and outdoor furniture.
One double bedroom, living-dining area with kitchen,
bathroom. It is very spacious and colors and furnishings
are enjoyable and eclectic. The bedroom has a large walk
through wardrobe room and the bedroom is separated by
drapes from the living area.
Trio – Sleeps 2+1
On two levels, Trio offers a living room with balcony on
the upper floor and a mini kitchen equipped with
everything! A queen size bedroom is separated from the
living area by drapes. A spiral staircase goes to the
lower floor where there is a twin bedroom and one
bathroom with shower. Large windows open to the garden
and perhaps there is a lack of privacy here as the entry
to Quartetto is reached by passing in front of these
windows. This apartment is, in my opinion, better suited
to two people who don’t want to do much cooking! The
twin bedroom could be used for one child.
Quartetto – Sleeps 4
Ground floor apartment with entrance directly from the
garden into a small living room leading to the double
bedroom (there is no door between the living room and
bedroom but a romantic curtain). Excellent
kitchen/dining area, a twin bedded room, bathroom
(shower). |
DISTANCES:
In the village of Pallanza with ferry, restaurants and
all services. Milano Malpensa airport 1 hour.
