Duomo

Duomo is a large apartment set in the middle of the historical center of Amalfi in an outstanding location. It offers beautiful views across the irregular terracotta rooftops of the town centre dominated by the Moorish bell tower and the beautiful façade of the Cathedral and further on to the sea.

Meandering through the quaint walkways of Amalfi  you reach the house situated on the top floor (approx. 110 steps) of a building dating back to the XVII century. The interiors are particularly roomy and very comfortably furnished. Each room has views and doors to the terrace which runs the length of the apartment. A further extensive terrace provides an ideal spot to relax while enjoying the breathtaking views.

 

 

Amalfi, originally a Roman town, was the home of Flavio Gioia, the inventor of the compass and gave navigators the famous maritime law know as “Tabula de Amalpha”.

Today, Amalfi is a picturesque seaside resort with a temperate climate, incomparable natural beauties and typical local products such as hand-made paper, lemons, ceramics, limoncello…
The accommodation is as follows:

Entrance into living/dining room furnished with table for 6 people, sofa, chairs, TV etc opening through French doors to the beautiful terrace overlooking the sea and the town center.

·Kitchen fully equipped.
·Master bedroom with French door to the terrace.
·2 twin bedrooms with French doors to the terrace.
·2 bathrooms, one with shower and one with tub.

From the entrance 20 steps lead to the terraced patios furnished with portable barbecue, long chairs, umbrellas and big table ideal for eating outside enjoying the breathtaking views.

Access: Approx 130 steps up from the main road.
Facilities: TV, washing machine, dish washer, fridge/freezer, oven, cooker (3 gas rings), parking available at a nearby car park costing € 16/18 per day.
Maid service: two hours mid week, change of linen and cleaning on Saturday.

DISTANCES:
The house is in the town centre, all essentials ( bars, shops, restaurants, banks and post office) are nearby. Regular bus service operates from the nearby Flavio Gioia square to the other towns in the region: Ravello 5 Km, Scala 5 Km, Sorrento 35 Km, Salerno 27 Km, Positano 22 Km, Naples airport 60 Km, Rome Fiumicino 320Km

Ferries and hydrofoil ply daily from Amalfi to Capri (1½ h.), Positano (20 min.), Ischia (2½ h) and Salerno (1 h.)
