La Cascina, Barbaresco
In the very heart of the wine-growing district of Piedmont, where wines such as Barolo, Barbaresco, Dolcetto and Barbera are produced, we find La Cascina. It is a large, old and simple farmhouse set in the midst of vineyards that are the most noble in the world. The sweetly undulating hills of the Barbaresco countryside offer the perfect backdrop to La Cascina. It is conveniently located on the outskirts of the small village, Tre Stelle. The town of Barbaresco is 2.5 km away and the large town of Alba is at 7 kms. Giovanna produces her own wonderful wines and wine-tastings are available in the new cellar.
There are four small and extremely comfortable apartments in the recently restored barn, two of which for 2 people, and two which accommodate 2 or 4 people. They are independent, with a little kitchen (where you will find all your breakfast supplies) and enjoy the best view of the countryside. The garden is for everyone to enjoy and the vegetable patch always offers fresh products.
The charming owner who runs the farm and tends to guests is a delightful and very helpful hostess and is happy to offer suggestions to guests and prepare itineraries for touring this fascinating region. The estate produces Dolcetto, Barbaresco and Barbera, jams, jellies, fruit and vegetables.
