Fattoria Rugia
The beautiful, authentically restored Villa is situated in the peaceful foothills of Lucca, surrounded by 12 hectares (33 acres) of vineyards and olive trees. The farm produces olive oil, red and white wine and is at five minutes walking distance from Villa Torregiani, a national landmark and a museum. The area produces well-known DOC wines and extra-virgin olive oil. It is 10 km west of Lucca and within easy distance of the coast and beaches of Versilia (Forte dei Marmi, Viareggio), Pisa, Florence and Siena. It is also close to the thermal baths of Montecatini, and the white marble mountains of Carrara.
The house itself is a renovated 16th century villa with farm outbuildings with three lovely apartments. Two of the apartments which we offer for rental are located on the second floor of the main building with their own entrance and garden. Each apartment has a private garden area with a table, chairs and umbrella.
The first floor is used by the owners who have their own private entrance on the other side of the villa and is totally separate from these two apartments.
Furthermore, a third spacious studio apartment is set in the garden, overlooking the pool and with wonderful far-reaching views
The apartments are fully furnished with some antique furniture. They have original terra-cotta floors and exposed wood beams. Bathrooms and fully equipped kitchens are brand new. Each apartment has its own system for hot water and heating. Maid service is provided for one hour a day. Laundry facilities and three mountain bikes are available for the guest. The lovely 12 meters long, salt water swimming pool, surrounded by olive trees and overlooking the typical Tuscan hills, is also part of the facilities offered to our guests.

In the main villa:
MIMOSA is 50 square meters (600sqft) with living room, dining area, open plan kitchen with refrigerator and dishwasher. The dining table can seat four to six people. There is a color satellite TV. Small steps lead to the bedroom on the upper floor with a queen size bed and bathroom with a shower. There is folding cot, which could accommodate a third person in the living room space. The steps do not have railing thus we do not recommend it for families with young children.
GELSOMINO is 70 square meters (750 sqft) and composed of a fairly large living room with dining area and a table for six. The bedroom has a queen size bed. Stairs lead up to the loft area with two sleeping sofas, color satellite TV, an ensuite bathroom with a bath tub.
By the pool:
LAVANDA is a very spacious studio apartment in a separate building with a large terrace overlooking the pool and with beautiful views. The kitchen corner is behind a partial wall and the separate bathroom has a shower. The furnishings are delightful.
