This large estate is made up of two large and beautiful old farmhouses at the foot of Cortona in a little country village. It dates back to XVII century and both old houses have been completely renovated and divided into four large apartments. Podere La Paglia offers guests a glimpse into country life of days gone by, and is also an excellent base for visiting important artistic towns, thus ensuring a pleasant and peaceful holiday with warm-hearted hospitality.
PAGLIA SOPRA - sleeps 8 (270 sqmt)
Farmhouse on two floors. First floor: large kitchen with fireplace, kitchenette, living room, double bedroom, bathroom with shower. Second floor: double bedroom, bedroom with 4 single beds, bathroom with shower. The house is furnished in traditional Tuscan country style with terracotta tiled floors, exposed wooden beams and wrought iron beds, all of which adds to the atmosphere of this beautiful hamlet. Paglia Sopra also has a furnished loggia, ideal for outdoor dining. A large private well equipped garden with barbecue and wood-burning oven is also available. The house is surrounded by 25 hectares of wheat, sunflower and lucerne fields.
PAGLIA SOTTO – sleeps 4 (90 sqmt)
This apartment was once the farmhouse’s cellar and stables. It comprises a large kitchen-living room, two spacious double bedrooms with ensuite bathroom, a private garden. The house is furnished in traditional Tuscan country style with terracotta tiled floors, exposed wooden beams and wrought iron beds, all of which add to the atmosphere of this beautiful hamlet. A large well equipped garden with barbecue and wood-burning oven is also available. The house is surrounded by 25 hectares of wheat, sunflower and lucerne fields.
Close to the main hou se described above is another independent stone farmhouse called Casa di Tobia, newly renovated and equipped with all comforts. It consists of two independent apartments.
CASA TOBIA SOPRA is the ideal solution for 4 people.
It is situated on the first (upper) floor of the farmhouse and is made up of a fully fitted kitchen with an old stone fireplace, dining room and a large, charming double bedroom with wrought iron bed, one twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower. Outside is a well- equipped terrace with a beautiful view of the Cortona hill, ideal for open-air meals, and large well equipped garden with barbecue and wood-burning oven.
CASA TOBIA SOTTO is a 90 sqmt apartment, ideal for 4 people.
The house has been furnished with original farm furniture and has terracotta floors, beamed ceilings and wrought iron beds. The apartment is composed of a large fully equipped kitchen with an old stone fireplace and dining area. There are 2 large and charming double bedrooms, each with en-suite bathroom with shower. A large breakfast-dining room is also available, where you can enjoy your meals and evenings with friends. Outside is a private well equipped garden, with a beautiful view of the Cortona hill, with barbecue and wood-burning oven; 25 hectares of wheat, sunflower and lucerne fields surround the property. Not suitable for the disabled.
