La Cascina del Falco
La Cascina del Falco is a beautifully presented farmhouse with a private pool, terraces and extensive grounds, offering panoramic views and accommodation for up to 14 people. It is situated 2 km from Monte San Martino, a village of medieval origin perched on a hill above the valley of the river Tenna. The farmhouse and its outbuildings have been restored respecting the construction traditions of Le Marche.
Just over one hour from the airport for Le Marche, Ancona, Le Marche borders with its neighbours Tuscany, Umbria and Emilia Romagna, but has very few tourists in comparison and has been described as ‘Italy in one region’ and Italy’s ‘best kept secret’.
The property is located within the central to southern area of Le Marche which is held to be the most beautiful and sought after in the region. With astonishing views of the mountains from the house and pool terrace, La Cascina del Falco is located just below the beautiful medieval town Monte San Martino within walking distance of the house.
From its elevated position the house enjoys wonderful far reaching views and is secluded and private. There are wonderful walks, a perfect opportunity to explore the lovely countryside surrounding the house. A 20 minute walk takes you into the picturesque hill top town Monte San Martino which has not only a good restaurant and bar in the main piazza but a famous art collection in one of the churches and an art gallery. The property is just 50 minutes to the coast and 35 minutes to the mountains.
There are countless hill top towns in the area to explore and enjoy the many excellent restaurants. An English restaurant guide to the area will be in the house to help you along. The choices are plentiful.
The property consists of a main house with accommodation for 6 people and three apartments providing stylish and comfortable ensuite accommodation for 2, 4 or 6.
The pool is situated above the house and is generously proportioned as is the sun terrace surrounding it. The pool is 12 x 6 m with a shallow and deep end and roman steps. The terrace is fenced and can be made totally secure if necessary for young children. There is a pool house with a barbecue and showers/wc and plenty of shade and sun furniture provided. Bikes are also available.
As well as having a well equipped kitchen in the main house with a dining terrace leading from it, there is another semi industrial kitchen and huge dining room with an open fire which was used for harvest dinners in the winter. This room is perfect for when larger parties rent the house and wish to dine in this atmospheric ex-cantina.
The house and grounds are spacious and beautifully finished, full of character and extremely comfortable and charming. The quiet, elevated location providing a perfect Italian haven with the bells of the hill top town wafting down the valley, the sun setting behind the distant mountains and close enough to the village to nip up for a coffee in the piazza in the morning sunshine.
Each apartment has a reserved space outside furnished with table and chairs where you can relax immersed in the nature of the Sibillini mountains.
Santa Caterina – Sleeps 2+2
70 sq mt. The cottage has a bright bedroom, a bathroom, a very nice kitchenette and a spacious living room with a queensize sofa bed.
La Sibilla – Sleeps 2
The accommodation, of approximately 50 sqm, consists of a kitchen, a bathroom and a queen size bedroom.
Il Vettore – Sleeps 4+2
The accommodation (130mq) consists of a kitchen, large dining room with fireplace and sofa bed, 2 bathrooms, 2 queen size bedrooms, one with fireplace and ensuite bathroom with Jacuzzi (4+3).
San Martino – sleeps 6 + 3
An apartment of 150 sq mt comprised of a large living room with TV, kitchen, bathroom, 3 queensize bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, panoramic terrace furnished with table and chairs for dining al fresco. A bed for a child can be added to each bedroom. During low and mid season this apartment can also be rented for 4+2 people. Prices upon request.
